HURRICANE IKE, Sunday, September 14, 2008

Catching forecasters and residents completely off-guard, winds of up to 70 miles per hour tore through Louisville, Southern Indiana and Ohio.  In our neighborhood, nearly every block sustained tree damage.

Across the street, many limbs came down, taking power lines with them.

Three doors down on our side, this tree was uprooted and thrown against the house.

Around the corner, this tree was snapped off.

Several trees came down on Cherokee Road.

Our generator kept us comfortable.

We managed without the dryer.
